{"id":11748,"date":"2020-09-16T14:10:07","date_gmt":"2020-09-16T14:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2026.photogaspesie.ca\/expositions-dartistes-quebecois-en-france\/"},"modified":"2020-09-21T16:14:24","modified_gmt":"2020-09-21T16:14:24","slug":"exhibitions-by-quebec-artists-in-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/2026.photogaspesie.ca\/en\/exhibitions-by-quebec-artists-in-france\/","title":{"rendered":"Exhibitions by Qu\u00e9bec artists in France"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span lang=\"en-US\">In the framework of Rencontres\u2019 international partnerships, three exhibits featuring the work of Qu\u00e9bec photographers are being presented in France this fall.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.institut-photo.com\/en\/event\/serge-clement-2\/\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Fragments &amp; Trans<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">, by Serge Cl\u00e9ment (Montreal, Qu\u00e9bec), is continuing until November 15, 2020, at the Institut pour la photographie in Lille. Serge Cl\u00e9ment\u2019s approach ranges from documentary to <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">installation by way of social commentary, poetic narrative and photographic essay.<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> The artist was hosted for a residency by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diaphane.org\/\">Diaphane, P\u00f4le photographique en Hauts-de-France<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> in 2017 as part of a partnership with Rencontres<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">,<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> thanks to the support of the Fonds franco-qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois pour la coop\u00e9ration d\u00e9centralis\u00e9e. His exhibition, coproduced with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diaphane.org\/\">Diaphane<\/a> and with the kind collaboration of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.galerielereverbere.com\/\">Galerie Le R\u00e9verb\u00e8re<\/a> in Lyon, is presented under the curatorship of Fred Boucher.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Foules<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> (Crowds), by M\u00e9lissa Pilon (Montreal, Qu\u00e9bec), will be presented from September 19, 2020, to January 3, 2021, during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.photaumnales.fr\/\">Photaumnales<\/a> at Le Quadrilat\u00e8re in Beauvais. C<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">ollecting photographs of crowds from archival materials<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">, M\u00e9lissa Pilon fragments them and assembles them in diptychs. The exhibit <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Foules<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> was also mounted in <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Forillon National Park (in the Gasp\u00e9) in 2019 on the occasion of the 10th<\/span> <span lang=\"en-US\">Rencontres. Photaumnales is produced under the general curatorship of <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">Diaphane, P\u00f4le photographique en Hauts-de-France.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">The Nantes-based organization <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lespui.eu\/\">Les PUI \u2013 Pratiques et Usages de l\u2019Image<\/a> and Rencontres are partnering together to present <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">L\u2019espace du livre: Territoires \u2013 \u00c9dition \u2013 Photographies<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> at L\u2019Artoth\u00e8que in La Roche-sur-Yon from September 25 to October 17, 2020. Built around 50\u00a0works of photography from France and Qu\u00e9bec, this exhibition showcases production from our respective territories.
